100 Posts

Wow some milestones shouldn't be missed and 100 posts is one of them. Way back in May when we started we were only going to do one post a week (imagine that!). We went to two and then suddenly Mommy became addicted to the hit counter and all bets were off. So I thought we would be hitting this milestone in the spring, but here it is!

We started the blog without any idea other cats blogged (imagine that again!). Mommy met Lisa at Lifeprints at a writer's conference and she encouraged Mommy, she told her that even she could do it. She finally figured it out and we were up and running - but with no one to share it with.

Psychokitty Max was the first blog we found. He was so nice and he added us to his blog roll, what a great cat he is (and a author too!). We started down his list and found Angus pretty fast, Daisy must have been right after, the Furry Bambinos and then Gandolf and Grayson.

When the Crews Views pointed out that we needed to head over to the Blogosphere, we checked it out. Eventually we got brave enough to post something on the Cat Blogosphere and then cats we didn't even know started dropping by, and we started dropping by too. We picked up some great friends Goldie and Shade (they gave me my first award), Mr Hendrix, Luxie, The Cats P and Victor and Nina. I picked up another regular with my dearest Whicky Wuudler (who was bloggless back then) and well, I can't name everyone can I? Okay just a few more Huffle Mawson, Grrreta, Parker, Sweet Praline and maybe just one more shout out to MoMo, Siena and Miss Kitty my SIFs.

The rest of my friends came later but believe me you mean no less to me! Whew, I'm spent. I think I need to take a couple of days off, till then have a great weekend! I'll be working on Post 101 and copying hyperlinks of everyone else. Love you all. We could have done it without you but what fun would that have been? None!

  1. I remember how I felt when we reached 100 posts. Mom said she would try this for a little while, but now we are addicted! There are some really great kitties out there and one of them is you!

  5. Congratulations dear Finny! One hundread posts is quite the achievement. Everycat is so happy that you are our friend, without you we wouldn't have made a blog at all. Perhaps you and your Mommy could share a large plate of fresh salmon as a celebration of today's importance?

  7. Congratulations on your milestone, Fin! When we started Mom was just doing a personal journal and had no idea that anybody blogged, let alone cats! Bonnie and Victor found us first and we found the Cat Blogosphere! Since then Bonnie and too many more of our friends have left for the Bridge, but we have also found so many more blogging kitties. It is wonderful to be part of such a wonderful blogging family and community!

  9. I think you may have just broken a record for the number of hyperlinks in one post. We're very thankful that your mom's hit counter addiction has brought us so many funny and insightful posts.

  11. Great milestone, Fin! I am so furry glad I found you. Jan from Jan's funny farm led me to Momo and she told me about you. And shortly afterwards we all went to Norway, with the lovely Miss Kitty! My blogging career, ehem, started with my mom's gardening blog. She was doing it for quite some time when she found some kitty blogs. Then I arrived and sort of took over her blog. Not too long ago she created my own space and now I even have a little sister. It's a fast world! 100 post, phew, time to nap!
Have a most lovely weekend. Siena

  12. This is so cool! I think I'm now on post 84...getting close to 100 myself. I too had no idea there was a cat blogosphere or other kitties blogging. I just wanted to write about my family...Dana and the Real Cats were the first to find us and then followed by Gandalf and Grayson...who introduced us to everyone! Congratulations on your milestone!

  21. That's a big milestone!!! I am so glad you started blogging, otherwise there would be no SIFs.

Like you, I started blogging with no idea that cats actually blogged. No one visited for months except for a doggie or two. I was just talking out loud to no one in particular on all sorts of things on a rather irregular basis.

Then Karl 'discovered' me and put an introduction in the CB. All of a sudden I had more than 20 kitties coming over to say 'mieow'. Since then I have been enjoying the warm companionship of the blogging kitties and got to know some quite well.

  28. When I started blogging, my mom was out on the road driving for a living and missing me somethin' awful. She googled around a bit and found Max and the Skeeter and LC. Ayla wasn't there yet. She read all the archives of Skeeter and LC's blog and decided I should start a blog, too! Thankfully, she came home soon after that and now she's my secretary! I really love this community and have made some wonderful friends!
Congratulations, Fin! I'm so glad you're here!

  29. Hi Fin, now it comes in handy to have a gardening mom: Valerian is Valeriana officinalis, we call it "Baldrian" in German. Humans can drink it as a tea and is has a soothing effect on them. All the contrary for cats! Then, what we think is reffered to as "nip" is Nepeta cataria (haha, notice CATaria!), also called catmint. The good thing is that mom has promised to try to grow both plants next year! If we get some out of the valerian we'll send you some, promised!
