Windowless Wednesday

I guess I'm in a little bit of trouble friends. I guess this could have been another day during Consequence Week...

Every morning when I go to work in our office, Mom opens the window to let me look outside, and get some outdoor whiffs. I love it. Mom loved it too - says it gets me out of her hair (which I'm rarely in by the way).

Yesterday I saw a bug on the top part of the screen. Course I gotta kill it, right? Right. Sure it was on the outside, but I didn't know that for sure. I had to investigate, right? Right.

So I climbed up the screen to the tippy top. I figured out the bug was outside, and I was gonna jump right down while Mom was still on her conference call - cause she hadn't noticed me yet. Then I noticed how nice the view was, and I clung on. Then I jumped down, and I did it again.

I guess I was pushing it. Apparently ample-sized kitten claws - make ample-sized holes in window screens. Who knew? Oops. I was put in time-out, but nothing too serious.

Then this morning, there was a total lockout! No open window, no screen, and no whiffs. Sigh. Indefinitely!

  1. Sweetheart, you were just trying to purtect Mom from bugs. But holes in the screen may get a kitty time-out.

  2. Quill, when Mom sees pictures of you with those airplane ears, she just smiles and smiles.

Our humans do sympathize about the screens, though. We have front and back door storm doors with optional full screens that could replace the storm windows in the warmer weather. But Mom and Dad KNOW we would be clawing or climbing them so they stick to the glass year round. You can't whiff through it, but you can see through it quite nicely.

  8. Wow, considering that this is your first offense, that's a pretty stiff penalty, Quill! Maybe mom will get you some claw-proof screens?

  9. Adventureous baby! Leo has tried to climb the door, but he only gets a tiny bit off the floor before he drops back down. You're fearless!

  10. Quill, I like climbing the screen door. Much to my mom's dismay. I put so many holes in it that the screen had to be replaced. Mom had special claw-proof screening put in. Now I can't climb it.

  12. They were just "ample" kitten-size holes. We don't see the problem here.

  13. Sometimes humans are just fun killers. Yours should have brought the bug in for you to play with.

  18. I know Quill just couldn't resist. My cats do the same thing, especially Koki who is the youngest of the group. I don't have an untouched screen in the house. I wish they were claw proof, or made sturdier.

  20. Quill, we have a screened in porch or at least we used to have one. You should see what we have done to it. It is in shreds. Now we sure don't suggest you do that but it is great fun to climb the screens. Sometimes it is hard to be a kitten. Take care.
