This is my backyard. It has what my parents like to call "Desert Landscaping" and it's what I like call "A lot of sharp, paw-hurting, pointy rocks." They installed it to use less water in the desert we live in. The next photo is what Mommy calls her "Recycling" it's what Daddy calls her "Her Crap Pile" (this is nothing, it's usually a lot higher).
Hey Mommy, I was supposed to be in the pictures too... Well Fin, you would have been if you had cooperated!
You should see my mum's "crap pile". It's massive!

Our mum's got a 'Crap Pile' too, and I like to jump in the middle of it and send it all flying.

I bet my Mom's crap pile is higher than yours! The trouble is, she needs to do something with it.
ReplyDeleteFin, we have a 'crap' pile too. We save it for uncle bean so he can start fires....um, in his wood burning furnace, that is.

PeeEss: We will be happy is we don't see much of that white stuff this Winter ;)
I like the look of your backyard!
ReplyDeleteWe gets a lot of rain (and snow) so we don't hafta water much but when we do mom uses a barrel of saved rainwater. Oh, and our crap pile gets taken out every 3 days...it's on mom's little OCD calendar in her head.
ReplyDeleteMy mommy really likes your yard...no mowing, plus it helps conserve water. Good job on the crap pile too.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Fin! Thank you for stopping by to say hello....and it's always great to meet another Norwegian Forest Cat. You DO look very NFC...very lovely!

Thank you so much for accepting the Dare! Desert landscaping is wonderful! We live in the desert too - though I have to admit, my staff keeps a lush garden.... BUT all local plants with grey water use!

Love your desert landscape! The PM and the MM toured Arizona for their honeymoon and they fell in love with the open desert.
ReplyDeleteSS just loves your backyard. Very environmentally friendly, minimalist and ???low maintenance. Me I like the damp flower beds, the soft grass and shades of various trees.
ReplyDeleteMinimalism is the thing for this century I am told and your garden is a beautiful example of it. I do sympathise about the lack of softness for your paws though.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Crap Pile, you should see the recycling boxes outside our back door! The paper box is good for napping in though. Very comfy.
