Well Mom caught a flu bug. I've been hot on the case to heal her, but she seems almost determined to prevent it. You all know the healing powers of cat spit are undeniable. I try to keep her and Dad healthy on a regular basis by sharing any water glass I see about the house.
Despite the grouchy "Get your head outa there!" or the "No! Finny No!" I take it all in stride. I love my parents and their health is vital to me. I even risk catching their kooties.
All my hard work has come to a crashing halt. Mom found a new cup with a lid, a LID! I can't begin to say how wrong this is, on so many levels. It's like a plastic bullet of defiance. Even when I knock it over, repeatedly, it refuses to submit to my will. I will find a way.
In the meantime, I've had to resort to purring on her and using her as a heating pad. She is so toasty when she is feverish. It's tough with all the coughing and sneezing, but I will do it. Hopefully she will still recover quickly.
Fin,
ReplyDeleteWe will ponder the lidded cup problem. Why don't Parents understand the power of Spit? It cures mostly everything WE get!
We posted a book review today--we loved your book, a lot. It was just like living in your house with you!
Be a good nurse and keep your Mom nice & warm. Spread out all over her chest to preserve the heat. That's what we do and Mommy gets agitated and moves around so it MUST work!
My mom went to far as to use one of those plastic "sport" bottles so I can't drink her water. It's selfish, really.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to find another way to get her your healing magical spit. She needs you Fin!
You are just way too good to your humans...
ReplyDeleteMs. Fin: are the source of the Healing--your parents gotta know that. However, this whole drink their beverage thing, Tommy has lid on us too. I don't get either. The humans don't seem to mind when we give them little licks on the hand--so what's the diff to sip from their container...? HUMANS!

Sorry your Mom is sick, and that she is thwarting your efforts to provide her with healing wonders. Good luck for her recovery.
ReplyDeleteAh, the conundrum of sick humans! Their warmth make them great heated cat beds, but then they get restless, sneeze, cough, etc., so it's hard to stay put. As far as the water thing goes, at least you were able to have fun for a while. My human drinks out of a bottle, which is almost always capped. She seriously has something against cat spit. It's kind of insulting.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your Mommy gets better soon, Finny; we know you are the best nurse she could have, but you really need to find a way to get her that healing spit!!MOL...Kisses sweet girl...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteAww, Fin! You're such a sweet little nurse!
ReplyDeleteWe are sending great big slobbery smooches to your mum in the hope that our spit will help to make up for the shortfall in her drinking water!
ReplyDeletePurrs out to your mom, a Spring flu is no fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope your mom feels better soon! With Nurse Finny on the job, we know she will!
ReplyDeleteFin, we are SURE you will find a way to heal your Mom. Maybe you could hide her lidded cup whilst she's asleep??
ReplyDeleteWe're sending purrs to your Mom too, every little bit helps! A lid, hmmmmm, maybe we can come up with a way to help you Mom flip her lid!
ReplyDeleteWe're joining in in your healing purrs for your mommy! Why do these humans always get sick? Ours is on antibiotics because she has a bad tooth. They sure are lots of work - but we love them to bits nonetheless.
ReplyDeletePurrs, LSIF & LSIHF
Oh, we are sorry to hear that your Mom is not feeling well, but we're sure you will heal her soon, Fin!
ReplyDeleteA cup with a lid? We agree, that is so wrong!
I hope your mum feels better soon. And I will ponder the lid problem and hopefully come up with a solution for you.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your mom feels better soon; we're sending lots of purrs and healing Light!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have the solution to the lid problem. It's not something our human concerns herself with, because we're not interested in drinking water from her glass. We might knock it over, but we don't drink from it.
BTW, when you have a fever, aren't you supposed to bundle up and sweat it out? That's how our human was brought up. So lying on your mom while she has one and making her even warmer is a great thing, Fin! You're such a good nurse!
A lid, that is ridiculous!!
ReplyDeleteYou do a great job of looking after your parents, Fin. Even if they don't always properly appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought to make notes on your nursing activities Finn - you could use them for the sequel to your book and call it Fin, The In House Nurse.
ReplyDeleteA cup with a LID?! You must make that your #1 priority, Fin, and report back on your progress.
ReplyDeleteFinny, you need to give the lid to that cup a little bitey. But bite hard so you can put a rip in it.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope Mom gets better soon. It isn't any fun to be sick. You sure are a good kitty Fin to take such good care of the rents. Have a fine day.
Patient rebellion should not be tolerated Fin. Whap that dumb lidded cup to the floor, drool all over it then rub your bum on it.
ReplyDeleteIt will soon find its way into the trashcan I guarantee!
Hope your Mum feels better soon.
Wicked Wuudler
We are sending get well purrs to your mom! The flu bug is not fun at all! And as for that LID?!? WTH??? That's wrong, just plain wrong!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon Baby Sister. You can come and rest in my bed, if you like, it's very soft, and I know you like it.
ReplyDeleteOh, Fin! You are so sweet to help your Mom get better. You will have to try a new spit approach and apply directly to her head! Lap, lap, lap!

ReplyDeleteA lid? A LID?!? What is next - covering their food with a lid? What a crazy mom to try and keep you out of her water - how will you check it? How will you taste it?? Oh the cat-manity (is there a cat version of humanity - you know to use in that phrase?)
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you are taking care of your mom though, and we are sending her lots of purrs and prayers to feel better soon!!
A lid?! I hope mom feels better but a lid is just no good!
ReplyDeleteOur mewmie got sick too and is drinking smelly teas and pink water that we don't like...we have been purring on her too...helps we think!
