So tonight when not one, but two of the doors in my realm were closed I was understandably miffed. Two doors!
I meowed for more than an hour before Mom finally figured out what was wrong, and righted the universe.
Yes, she is slow.
On an up note she did feed me twice, add ice to my water, and clean my litter box in an effort to discover the cause of my distress.
Yes, I run a tight ship. I'm happy to report that nothing was going on in there either.
It's the same at our house Fin, the cats go bats if a door is shut and they all gather outside and mill about trying and figure how such a thing has happened!
ReplyDeleteAt least your human made herself useful while she was trying to figure out what you were telling her.
ReplyDeleteI only get uptight if SS's bedroom or study door is closed, and only when she is in there. Otherwise I don't care less.
ReplyDeleteGood that your mom is so concerned about your condition.
Fin, the lesson there is to meow like that MORE OFTEN. Fed twice? Ice water? Clean Box? Girl, you hold the key to happiness in your tiny Meow Horn.
ReplyDeleteFin, you just make me laugh every single time! I can understand your frustration at the doors being closed though. Our kitties get really upset if any door is shut and demand that they be opened. The good part is they can't open the doors going outside thanks to lots of locks!! Have a great night! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteThe only good door is an open door...except for the door that leads to the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteFin, I think human who has cat in the house should get rid of all doors : )
ReplyDeleteCedar (my Maine Coon Cat) told me his secret: the average time it takes for a cat to decide he wants to come in and when he wants to go back out is 5.7 secs. Closed doors are considered merely a challenge unless you have large paws and have mastered the latch door handle.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for being upset. What in the world were they closing YOUR doors for? Ah, well, at least you got an extra meal and some maid service out of the deal.
ReplyDeleteI HATE closed doors too! My dear, we have sooooo much in common... *rumble*
ReplyDeleteAll these years and they still haven't learned? Are your parents a bit slow in the head or something?
ReplyDeleteWe have a small place, so there's not many areas ever cut off to us. Finally the utility room was because Jack was "going" on the rug in there, plus jumping back into the duct work and Mom thought he might get stuck. Once Mom shut us up into the bathroom because some guy was working on the air conditioner. We yelled and yelled about that!
ReplyDeleteFin, that is so true, doors should never be shut. We just have to be able to inspect all rooms and make sure there no introoders. We go nuts if there is a closed door but it does sound like you have Mom well trained. Good job Fin. Take care and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you finally got those doors open Fin, I totally agree, closed doors shouldn't happen!
ReplyDeleteDoors are evil and they should not exist. And if they do by some circumstance..they should be bolted open!!!
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice having intellijint hoomanz. Wez selling owr howse (?!) an Her haz closed many doors, itz horribulz! Pleeze halp us!
ReplyDeleteOur Beans know better than to shut doors or they end up with claw marks on them.
ReplyDeleteKeep them straight, Fin! It's funny how you can get them to do all kinds of things, just by acting upset!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a lucky well cared for cat :-)
ReplyDeleteHow dare "they" close the doors!! Don't they know that a closed door is the SUREST way to arouse our curiosity!?
ReplyDeleteLove, Cody
Me HATES closed doors too! Me liked how your Mommy did all the other things first though! My Mommy would probably think of the door first - before the ice in the water!

Seems like your humans are falling down on the job. They need to be on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan).
ReplyDeleteThat is a big black mark against your Mom's name - keep count of the number of black marks because when she gets up to three she has to pay a forfeit!
ReplyDeleteOh gracious, bad Mom! The closed door is not a thing kitties here like, either.
ReplyDeleteHey Fin,
ReplyDeleteWe have a very complicated system of household barriers; doors and gates, to keep traffic separated. Mostly it's for canine control with us 4 felines being able to transverse either over or under the gates (Gracie can go through the slats). The downstairs door has a cat door so we felines can hit the liter boxes in the basement and it keeps the canines from chowing down. There are two other cat doors to allow us into the utility rooms where the boxes are kept. The only interesting doors that are sometimes closed are usually if one of the dogs is on a crate time-out. Jenny likes ice water too, so she has a bowl on the counter next to the fridge icemaker. The rest of us cats prefer the big dog water bowls; the dog slime adds an exotic tropical flavor.

We also have an Open Door Policy. We will scratch and meow until any closed door is open....and then walk away.

Fin, yoo made us larf! On the whole yoo seem to have everything more or less under control, though!
ReplyDeleteI am glad your message finally got through and the doors were opened!
ReplyDeleteThe only door in our house has a large enough space at the bottom for me to squeeze through.
I do NOT do well with closed doors, either. Whenever my People take me to visit their family, they sometimes close the door to the bedroom where I have to stay. NOT fun! But I deal.
Excellent!
ReplyDeleteYou got what you wanted and had her complete attention waiting on you at the same time!
Our guys hate closed doors, too!
