A Tail

Friends I have a little confession to make. I'm a tail-chaser.

Every time I turn around, there it is. I go one way and it always seems to go the other. It's mocking me and it's out of control.

::Whispers:: It's like it has a mind all its own. Any tail that pesky needs to be taught a lesson.

So I chase it. A lot. It tries to hide from me, but it's no match for my hunting skills. Mom even noticed it's even resistant to being photographed... look.

Tail? What tail?
You can try to hide in the shadows, but I see you!
I find the best tail hunting happens in the middle of the night. We're all enjoying a nice snooze when Mr Tail makes his presence known. I find a nice paw thrashing softens him up - Mom calls this Crazy Paws. Mr Tail stands out easily on the white sheets, and he's still kinda drowsy, so I go all in.

For reasons I can't understand Mom seems to side with Mr Tail. Just as I am doing a  series of full-twisting bounces over her - I am placed on the floor! Repeatedly.

She has no idea the danger a rogue tail can cause.

  5. As an experienced tail chaser, may I suggest going after that thing in a box? I find it's easier to subdue in a closed area.

  7. That tail had better watch out, Quill - I am sure you will not be happy until it is properly killed.

  9. Wow, that's what you get for trying to save your mom from that rouge tail.. next time, let it get her! MOL

  10. Quill we're sorry you Mom doesn't like it when you are thrashing Mr Tail in the middle of the night. You really ought to tell her that it is getting stronger and you are saving her from a good tail thrashing by catching it before it hurts her.

  11. We used to chase our tails when we were lil squirts, too. Teri says occasionally she will see Brighton doing it but he won't admit to it! Oh, we bet you have a rogue tail, not a rouge one cuz that means red, hahameow (Teri says she knows all about that cuz she used to live on the Rogue River in Oregon and it wasn't red either but it got misspelled a lot!

  12. One of the adult cats in the building I clean at the rescue growls at and chases his tail. I knew dogs did that a lot but never saw a cat do it. I bet you are adorable chasing your tail :)

  14. we have that problem here sometimes too - though kittens tails seem to be worse than adult tails. And the kittens seem to have discovered that the tail belonging to a sibling is easier to chase. MOL good luck!!

  16. Tails. They truly are complicated, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. Then it's on to the next lesson!

  17. Hi Quill, I used to chase my tail all the time (then my kittens did so too), but as I'm now 18 years old, the only thing I'm chasing is zzzzzzzzzzzz's! Purrs, nuzzles and love to you all from me, Mischa, Kitten my house buddy and Helen my mom (Kindle subscribers from the UK)

  18. The Mom puts you on the floor. How rude is that. You are just trying to control that darn thing that follows you around. Two Two sometimes catches that tail of hers and bites it and then growls like crazy because it hurts when she bites it.She had no idea it was attached to her body.

  19. How rude to put you on the floor when you were only trying to protect her from The Tail.

  21. We did not know Fin has gone to the rainbow bridge. We are sad to hear that. My mom is so out of it... and hasn't been visiting the blogs till yesterday. Monty actually passed April 15. The human sister's birthday. It was not a happy birthday at all.
