Well here we are in week two without the Hated Noisy Box, that used to live on the bedside table and startle us at random intervals. I had been welcomed with open arms by my family as I alone, took on the task of waking them up, until this morning.
Sure it was only 4am, but I was peckish and I needed to have my breakfast a bit early. Mom was a bit put out for some unknown reason, and actually ignored my request. The nerve. We argued till 4:30 when she said something about being spoiled, and some other words I wont use here in this family-friendly blog. I tuned them out as I rammed her chins with my feline for to encourage her. I was still polite and respectful
I didn't hold a grudge. I stayed on-duty till 5:30 when I woke her again. I could have easily settled in for a post-meal nap, but I didn't.
I did get an extra enjoyable chat and snuggle when she came home this afternoon so I guess she realized she was wrong. I forgive you.
The things we endure for our humans!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing quite well to replace that noisy box. Both mom and I overslept this morning.
ReplyDeleteHumans, we know what's good for them but they don't want to listen! Getting up at 4.30 is good for humans!!
ReplyDeleteToy...he wakes our humans up by pushing stuff to the floor, banging the closet doors or jumping on the bed. Mom grabs some smelly stuff then sprays where he is 'causing trouble. She then gets under the covers again.(=^Y^=)
ReplyDeleteThey're not perfect, they're only human.
ReplyDeleteYou're human just needs a bit more training. We have ours getting up at 4AM or even earlier sometimes. She grumbles, but she obeys!
ReplyDeleteThese creatures are about as lazy as a sloth!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Noisy Box here too but I wake Momma up a few minutes before it goes off so she won't be too startled by it. For some reason it doesn't work on the weekends. . . that's when I take over.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you work a lot better than the noisy box!!
ReplyDeleteFor all the work you do waking her in the morning, the least she could do is give you a little snack when you want one...even if it is 4am...
ReplyDeleteMy cousin Audrey got so persistent with the night time requests for snacks that her Mom switched over to having an automatic feeder in control of dispensing the food. It has helped a lot. She gets a couple of small snacks of crunchie food during the night. She can hear the click of it opening from the other side of the house! But I think her Mom now uses a noisy box for wakeups!
ReplyDeleteYes, Fin, I think all cats are alarm clocks=it's so much nicer to wake up to you guys!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing she has you to take care of her, Fin. She'd never get anything done otherwise! We're glad she hasn't replaced The Noisy Box yet, you're a much better waker-upper, we think.
ReplyDeletePurrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
PS - we missed a few days last month and aren't sure we caught up on everything - did we miss an announcement about The Look? We're really looking forward to it!
You are so generous in your treatment of your hoomin.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a great alternative to that awful box. Remember that one eyed heat monster? You have a way of defeating these things.
ReplyDeleteOur mum isn't as understanding when I walk on her head at 3am because I'm hungry. She tells me to Fluff Off
ReplyDeleteEric.
We understand how you feel...our late at night or REALLY early in the morning, requests sometimes go answered as well...That's when we put the Moves On!
ReplyDeleteHoomans ... can't live without them, can't live with them! *hmmph*
ReplyDeleteWow, what a super wonderful, riviting blog post! The kind of post no one could leave (you two know who you are, and she misses you very much). I love you! The part about the chins made me laugh so had, on account of the fact that I relate I guess.
ReplyDeleteMOL! Fancy being un-appresheative of being woked up!
ReplyDeleteHumans! Sometimes you wonder why you put up with them ;-)
ReplyDeleteTell the humans not to be alarmed, you're just doing you job!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a perfect job, Fin! We're sure your Mom realized she was wrong.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny, Fin! I really giggled when I read the part about your ramming her "chins"! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing such a great job Fin - you deserve some early treats every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteWhat would they do without us?
ReplyDeleteKeep giving them the Wee Willie Winkie treatment, Fin!
