What? on Wednesday

Last night I decided to take my beloved, Mousey, out for a stroll around the house. During our late night together time I enjoy singing my song of love to my precious.

Mom and Dad call my song a strangled cry. I don't care what they say because Mousey loves my song. I can't help that his faux-fur makes him a little plump, and harder to enunciate when he's in my mouth.

Anyway last night I was racing through the hall with Mousey, instead of my leisurely stroll, and my usual song seemed a little slow. I decided to speed up my tune, kinda a Mousey remix. DJ turn it up, up, up!

Apparently it made my standard song sound a little freaky and frantic to Mom and she sat straight up in bed. She called out to me, sounding frantic herself, to see if I was okay. I guess she must have heard Mousey's jingle bell and realized it was just me and my sweet mouse.

You know what she did next? She yelled at me to knock it off!

Everyone's a critic.

Ignore her. You can't just bottle those feelins up inside. Let it out! xoxo

Some humans just don't appreciate a good song when they hear one. Carry on, SIF!!!

What Prancer said, and Momo too. Ignore the humans. They have no idea of ANYTHING.

Fin, tell your Mom that her job is not to criticize, but to get a recording of it!

You definitely need to ignore your Mom. She doesn't know how to appreciate a good song.

Fin, these middle of the night concerts are so sweet. I'm sure mom and dad really appreciate them, just can't show it. You keep practising your harmonies at about 3a.m. >^,.^<

You know, it IS strange that mom's don't appreciate our finely honed singing skills. What's up with that do you think?

We understand Fin because our sister BB does the exact same thing. She carries a frog around that goes ribitt and she sings back to it. We bet your singing is truly wonderful. Nuts to the Mom telling you to knock it off. Too funny. Fin you are the best.

Oh Fin, I can sympathise with your mummy on this one I'm afraid! I've read lots of stories of cats saving their families by scratching and wailing during the night to alert them to fires and gas leaks... so now if I hear either of the cats 'crying' I have to get up and check that they (and everything else) is all right, at whatever time of night!! My husband thinks it's funny - hmmf!

Hey Fin, I'll bet your Mom is feeling terrible about this by now. It was innocent, right? Maybe she could make it up to you with more porch time or maybe retail therapy, like one of those plush new cat beds placed just right in the back of the closet. Some kissing up is in order, neck scritches, that kind of stuff. Standby on this one. I'm betting Mom will be singing a new tune before you can say sneeze. Your friend, Lassie

why, the nerve of your mom, Fin! I sometimes sing when I carry my favorite froggy, tho my mom calls it yowling, or some such. No appreciation, I tell you!
