Confessional

The other day Mom came home from a buying trip at the local Petsmart and I just knew she had been up to no good. Along with the pleasant smells of a friendly pet shop I smelled the unpleasant aroma of kitten.

Upon interrogation Mom confessed that she had been kitten snuggling at the adoption event! Not just one kitten either - two. A tiny silver tabby boy AND a gray tabby girl!

Mom began to gush about how cute the little girl kitten was and that it looked so much like me. She said the adoption folks mentioned she was "a handful" and ran her brothers raged.

Dad refused to partake and this is why he remains my favorite.

Mom said that during the cuddle the kitten jumped from her arms and right into her purse in the shopping cart. She asked if I didn't think it was a sign that the kitten wanted to come live with us?

Um, no. I think that kitten was trying to flee the corporal cuddle-fest and landed in her purse by chance. Sure I think there is a chance that kitten was angling for a great home. Any kitten can see that Mom is a push-over. Good on you little kitten, but this house is remaining a one-cat sanctuary.

  4. Fin, it is a kitten, and you know how fast THEY get adopted! If your human left her there, chances are some other human with a good home snatched her up. Paws crossed for you!

  7. We have a little "sister" although Mommy says she's a foster. And while she can be a pest, she is also fun to play with. Who knows, Finny, you just might like a little sister, even if it's just for whapping practise. :p

  8. Fin, that is how it starts! One of these days you will see your human come in with a kitten. Your life will never be the same!

  10. Finny, we are on your side. Granny kitties shouldn't have to put up with a kitten even if they are totally cute. But it is all right for Mom to snuggle with them at the store. That was one smart kitten to jump right in the purse. Too funny. Take care.

  13. That's right Fin, you need to put your paw down before it goes any further.

  14. I agree darling Fin, one cat is the limit!! In my house there was talk of some kittens who needed a home recently and I 'nipped it in the bud' of course--I want ALL the attention-ALL the time and you should have it too. :-)

  16. We understand humans are weak and can't resist a little kitten snuggling every once in a while, but we find it very disturbing that your mom is flagrantly flaunting her indiscretion by wearing "new cat smell" fragrance. How dare she!

  17. Fin, I am definitely on your side here. I know I would not like it one bit of my mom came home with another little girl. Not even a little bit.

  19. Someone at our mom's work has kittens they need to find homes for and "jokingly" said if you take one get two more free...we let Mom know that we are not interested in any kittens. We are getting older too...we want to nap in peace, not have snotty kittens nibbling on our ears and tails!

Good for you putting your paw down, Fin!

  20. as a first class kitten pusher myself, you need to give your mom a little slack.. Sometimes when someone hands you a kitten, you really have no choice but to take it..

as for the kitten in the purse, well that is one very smart kitten, reading all the signs you left on your mom about how much you love her and how wonderful she is.. she would have been silly to not want to go home with her..
