Bending It

I think it's time that I "Out" Mommy. She likes to "Bend It Like Beckham" - what does she like to bend you might be asking - the space-time continuum.

She has completely gone to the darkside with the TV. Once she had the DVR she refused to watch live TV without bending it. She stops time, she rewinds time when Daddy misses something, and she fast forwards - she's out of control.

On the blog it started innocently enough, she pre-scheduled a post for a Thankful Thursday and hit publish while it was still Wednesday. She realized the error and went back to try to make it Thursday's post again, but it turned out with Thursday's date and still on Wednesday night.

She noticed the next morning many of my friends from other countries had been by to visit during the night, and so it began. First she justified that if she did it at 9pm our time, it was the next day in parts of the US. She cut it back to 8pm. Now she has bent it as early as 7pm!

Sure she has her excuses, she often visits with me during those hours, so if someone comes by based on my visit she thinks it's nice if they have something fresh to read. Of course if she just let time be - they would have something new to read too - it would be older, but fresh for them.

She recently noticed that the "Subscribe in an email" feature can get confused and deliver two posts at once (we only have two subscribers and one of them is Mommy). So I ask you friends - do I allow Mommy to continue to "Bend It" or make her play by the rules of the Universe? You know how I feel about rules...

  2. Ah, rules schmules, Fin... as long as your Mommy is making a good-faith effort to promote you to the world, then it's all good, y'know?

As Misha says, you have fans all over the world, so it's always exactly the right time for someone...

  3. Bending time is fun. We say let her do it as long as she keeps up with your demands.

  4. My mom is not smart enough to bend time. If she could figure it out she'd probably do it too...until then we stick with the midnight Pacific time posts.

Go ahead, bend it like Fin! Forget about Beckham!

  6. Well, I live in the present. The lady lives in the past. I think your mom should live wherever in time she wants.

Now, if I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do...

  7. We think your Mommy is doing ok. She's helping you blog, and see your friends. We subscribe to your blog through Google reader Fin, so blogger may not show all of your subscribers.

  8. If we schedule a post, we do it for midnight our time. Sometimes we don't have time to do it then so we just do it when we are ready, but we like to do it as early as possible so more people get chance to see it before the next post.It doesn't really matter what time you do it though. Just do it when it suits you and your mum.We don't subscribe by email, it would probably fill our inbox up. We use google reader.

  11. Rules are just meant to be broken! Our mom bends it with the DVR, she never watches live TV either and loves to fast-forward the commercials!

  12. Sorry, Fin, but we're big DVR fans. We're going to have to go with your female human pet on this one. The DVR is the invention of a lifetime!

  13. I say let her do it. The easier it is for her to blog than the better. We pre-publish every night and it makes it the lazy Woman can keep up with us.

  14. Bend it! Break it! We think your mom should do whatever she wants...if she wants to post Thursday's post on Wednesday...just gives us here in the midwest, something to read sooner!

  15. We thinks bending time is a good thing. We want to fast forward to a sunny day as we are unhappy with the rainy day we have today. ~S,S,C & F

  16. To bend or not to bend? That is the question.

Is your Mom happy bending it? If she is and it's not effecting your meal, cuddle and play times, then we're thinking it's okay.

By the way, thank you for your kind comments. Our woman really appreciates it.

  19. The PM doesn't bend very well. Maybe she's getting old. She puts ours up early morning our time to start off our day. Sometimes right after midnight but normally it's in the wee hours like 4 am.

I really don't know why she does what she does. I think whatever the Mom decides is how it is to go.
