Finally Friday

I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words about Daddy. He's doing a bit better, but he's still in a great deal of pain. Of course I knew you would understand and be supportive, that's what friends are for. We've managed to do a little bit of visiting when we could and we really miss all of you. We miss posting too - for so many reasons I hope things get back to normal soon.

I also wanted to report on "The Help" that came this week. Daddy's parents came to help us out, because your parents always make you feel better, and we needed some help. Mommy and Daddy were so happy to have them here and I must say I was too - at first. Things started to break down when I realized neither of them spoke cat properly. I guess I forget that not all humans are so adept at our language.

I thought my meows explaining that the den chair is mine were crystal clear. Look, I'm either in it myself or I'm in Mommy's lap when she sits in it. Who doesn't understand an agitated mew when you want your box stirred, even if it's right after it's been cleaned?

Well I have to credit and say they gave it a try today and started meowing back at me, but I can't repeat the translation here. I forgave them though cause we love them.

Miss you all, have a great weekend with lots of snuggles and keep purring for us when you can.

  3. It is good that your family has some help with all that is going on.

Yes, it is hard when some people are not attuned to the subtleties of our language. But, I know you will be patient with them!

    Take care.

  4. Oh Fin, not all humans understand the "stir my box" meow..or even the "look". Be patient with them. We understand you!

  6. I am continuously purring for your dad. Grandfolks take a little longer to get used to our language. my gran is slowly distinguishing the mieow of 'I need food' to that of 'I want to get on your lap, please sit down'

  8. It is wonderful how all stick together! Hard things appear to be easier when you have family and friends at your side. We are purring for your daddy too, Fin. And the grandparents might take longer to train, but they'll get there eventually.

  9. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Grans. It will take a while for you to train them properly. Having his mom and dad there will certainly make your Dad feel better which is wonderful!

  12. Grandaparents can be hard work, but they're worth the effort. When our Grandparents came to stay, by the time we left we had our Pop wrapped around our paws. Grandparents are very good at working a treat jar ;)

We are purring for your Dad.

  13. We have been catching up on your post. We are very sorry your Daddy is ill. We will purr and tail wag as hard as we can that he gets better soon.

It's neat you had your own doggie. We hopes one day we will get along as well with Fenris as you did with Koda.

Grandparents can be difficult. Mommy's parents came to visit last Saturday and they don't understand us at all. They don't let cats in the house (well really - it's our house). We hopes yours learns to understand cat soon.

  17. That is good that your Beans have got help. It's strange but true that not all Beans know catspeak. It's like learning a foreign language for them. You have to be patient and teach them.
We are sending more purrs for your dad.

  25. So glad your Daddy is doing better. That is a beautiful picture of you Fin. It's nice that his parents tried, but we agree, not everyone understands cats as well as Mommies and Daddies do!

  26. That's great your dad's parents are there. Perhaps they'll gradually learn to speak cat and stay out of your chair!

We send purrs and barks for your dad to get better.
