WMD

WMD - Weapons of Mat Destruction
These weapons may look familiar to many of my friends, but to those who are "knot" in the know:
  • The Dreaded Furminator breeds loathing deep in my grannycat soul. Mom never seems to get the big wads of fur off me that she sees in all the ads. I'm sure it's user error on Mom's part, but it tends to get caught in my fur and pull it.
  • The Scissors are actually not bad. Mom and Dad are quiet effective performing a knotectomy with these. I can't say my trim is always even but at least my fur isn't pulled too much.
  • The Zoom Groom, or Zoomie as we call it, is very nice - for a fur puller. I have to admit I fussed a lot at first but I've come to enjoy this one. Especially around the neck and down the back, but never on the side or belly.
Thank Cod, my shed season is coming to an end. My winter floof is coming in super thick and extra soft as ordered. My parents can't get enough of my super soft coat. Until I'm fully furred I'm enjoying lots of quality lap time with Mom, cause she's hot... I mean that literally. She's like a furnace.

This was my first glamor shot for the blog and you can see how uneven this trim was. I think I still rocked the punk look though.

  4. Oh Finny! You are lucky...do you know how many fur removal devices our mom has? I can't even count that high! I always think your fur looks wonderful.

  6. Fin, we are shedding by the bucketful at the Catio. The next time we have a soutwesterly wind watch for the cloud of fur obscuring the sun. It'll be ours!

  8. SIF, you never look bad! I absolutely hate being furminated.

Yes, I know the comb and the scissors well. It's the season for it here.

I am molting, and molting , and molting. It's fur here, fur there, fur everywhere!

  9. Fin, has your human ever tried using a fairly wide-toothed metal comb on you? My human has used those on kitties with thick, long fur like yours and it really helps prep the fur for further brushing with the other implements and also helps to isolate those nasty knots.

  10. My dear, if you were bald we'd still follow you, drooling, to the end of the earth.

Suggest to your mummy that she get you some clippers like the vet has - she got some for us and it's so easy - if it wasn't for the buzzing, we'd never know she was getting knots out (and she won't accidentally cut us like she might have once *AHEM*

  12. Our Mom recently purchased a new weapon against mats that we call the Claw! It's like a furminator but the teeth are curved into a claw that breaks the mats up! Samson is the only one who loves it.

BTW, our mom laughed and laughed at the "weapons of MAT destruction." Too funny!

  18. Fin - my mum is always muttering about me looking untidy round the neck. These mums never want us to go with the naturally untidy look do they.

  21. My human bean doesn't have a Furrminator for me, 'cause I'm short haired, but my brofur Blizzard had to get some mats cut of his belleh this fall. Poor guy. He didn't like it a bit!

  22. You look great, Fin...we don't like our furminator at all.

  24. It takes a bit of doing to get the furmintor technique down. Our mom is good at it, she gets lots of fur off. She likes to do it outside, and somedays it looks like a cat blew up in the grass.
I like that best with my floofy fur.
With their shorter furs, Scout & Scooby like the zoom groom or a regular brush.--Shaggy
