Earlier today I decided I needed a little lap time with Mom. I started my usual survey of the territory, trying to tamp down the offending lumps. I was just beginning to settle on a spot when Mom said
"You smell..."
I never expected the sentence to end with
"like a waterfall in a meadow! Did you sleep on a fabric softening sheet?"
I shall never tell. I normally smell like sunshine and rainbows.
Well, of course you do, Fin!!
ReplyDeleteI smell like freshly tongue-bathed kitty... with a hint of chicken flavored cat food.
ReplyDeleteMOL! Kittehs ALWAYS smell good. No matter what. Right, Moms? :)
ReplyDeleteLike a sweet, fluffy cloud?

You had me for a moment! I remember those times that something was stuck to Sweet Praline's floofy pantaloons and it didn't smell too good.
ReplyDeleteMom Paula

ReplyDeleteHA! My cat sitter claims to smell like sunshine & rainbows. Frankly, she's full of it. And by It, I mean something that rhymes with It. I'm just relieved to know that this exchange did not end in a B-A-T-H for you Fin. ; )
ReplyDeleteMOL...Fin, don't worry about what she just said, She will kiss you anyway, No matter what !
ReplyDeleteLike my mom always complain " You smell like Egg Yolk, You smell like dirty rug, You smell like Old Lady perfume " Always some things but she kiss me any way. I don't know what is her problems ; )

ReplyDeleteFin, your mom just wants an excuse to stick her nose in your furry bod! xx
ReplyDeleteLOL! That's much better than a lot of things to smell like, Fin. Though the mom never has found any of us stinky, actually. When she could still smell, she thought we just smelled faintly of the outdoors or of the scented litter we formerly used. :-)
ReplyDelete.. that description is so beautiful! we love the idea of your smelling of such things (wish we did!) Love Helen, Darcy and Helen xx
ReplyDeleteMOL! Well we smell of rolling in bits of decaying plant in the garden, today!
ReplyDeleteI may or may not smell like a kittenboy who had a nugget combed out of his pantaloons this morning...
ReplyDelete-Lishy.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, Puddy, what in the world is Old Lady Perfume. MOL.
MOL! That is the best ending to "You smell" EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe bet you smell beautiful, Fin! Sleeping on a dryer sheet might be good in the winter...no more static cling!
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you're whiffin good Fin!
ReplyDeleteYou can tell us Fin - we'd never tell your mom why you smell so lovely.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Awwww...soooo sweet, but I gotta say I liked the "offending lumps" part almost the best!

Daddy did not like the shampoo Mommy bathed me with, he said I stunk. I was suppose to smell like Baby Powder. ~Scylla
ReplyDeleteWe thinks you smell divine Fin. ~Socks & Fenris
Fin, will you tell me your secret? I would like to smell "like a waterfall in a meadow!" As long as a human type bath isn't involved. ~Artemisia
Offending Lumps!?! Fin, you crack us up! Mommy (who sniffs Cats like they were crack) says dryer-sheet kitties smell sooooo good.
ReplyDeleteMOL. You crack us up, Fin! We can think of a lot worse things to smell like. :)
ReplyDeleteSunshines and rainbows are totally what I thought you'd smell like!
ReplyDeleteWE believe you, Fin!
ReplyDeleteFin can you let a girl in on your secret most of the time I smell great through every once in a while she says I smell stale. When I am stale I have to take a bath to smell almonly fresh.
