How tweet it isn't!
This seemingly innocent looking bird has made all of our lives miserable as of late. We thought a whole flock of song birds had taken up residence in the yard. Day and night it's a constant stream of tweets - surely it's a flock we thought. Well friends it's all the work of the Mocking Menace and it's mate. Yes, there are two of them (let's hope they are not making more!). When I go outside they CAT-CALL ME! This is unacceptable.
Uh oh, sounds like trouble...and where there are 2 this time of year, there's bound to be more of the little pests soon. We can come help...Cecilia is a champion huntress. I'm fairly useless, even with bugs. I just want to play.
ReplyDeleteThat is totally unacceptable. They should see you and fly away in terror. Maybe they know of your policy and that's why they're in your tree?
ReplyDeleteWatch out! If there are two, there are sure to be more soon.
ReplyDeleteWe had a bird like that outside our house recently. It would shout at Cosmo whenever she came outside. Blimmin' rowdy!
ReplyDeleteBetter be careful, Fin. We remember one of those mockers who would dive-bomb squirrels on the ground. They're not all bark and no bite.
ReplyDeleteYou might have to leave out some brochures about housing in other areas for them to read over. If there are two, there is bound to be more soon.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe 2 of them can make so much noise! And they probably are making more. You gotta show them who's boss of your yard, Fin!
ReplyDeleteDo you want me to send you our resident kookaburras? They make such a din that your twit of the Mocking Menace will be drowned in no time.
ReplyDeleteMy... If they make more of them... then there will be little ones flying around soon! My big human sister has done bird rescue... on birdies that got bit by kitties!
ReplyDeleteFin, they are breeding and the only way to put a stop to this mocking mob is to eat at least one of them now.

PS: I am currently tormented by a Blackbird that has learned to mimic the sound of a lorry reversing warning tune. I shall have a tuneful lunch one day very soon.
Those mockinbirds are loonies! What are they thinking, trying to take you on?!
ReplyDeleteClearly they do not know who they are dealing with.

Those birdies need to learn some respect. I think you need to teach them a lesson Fin!!
ReplyDeleteThat Mocking Menace sounds like a real pest!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you just need to establish some diplomatic relations with this tweeter and inform him of the rules of the property. I'm sure once you do that, he'll see the error of his ways and correct his behavior.
ReplyDeleteOh dear and the birdie looks so cute too! he shudn't mock you though - that's norty.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, we're wondering what kind of bird that is (just so we can look out for them in our Summer House)... and they're soooo rude to cat-call you!
ReplyDeleteIf you hang out under the tree they would surely leave in some time. Use earplugs while you're lounging under the tree. Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry to tell you this Fin, but they are probably making more! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou can't blame them for wanting to serenade you, but I agree that the catcall is unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteAt my house we have a ton of those menaces, cuz my mom feeds them! Can you imagine?

Hey Fin, when I go down in flames in Kitty Fight Club this week, I'm hoping you'll join me and Siena and Sweet Praline and all the other kitties who don't make the final in a big bucketful of niptinis!
