On the Fence

Our family has been so sad over all the events in Japan the last few days. At times it's felt like the sadness would pull us down like an emotional tsunami. I usually try to keep things light and fun here at the H.C. and Mom and I were trying to decide between posting about being sad or trying to help everyone feel a little better by making you laugh (or at least trying to, as we do each time we post).

I didn't feel my best on Sunday, but I'm fine now. Dad is having some facial pain, but he is doing okay too. So we decided that we would focus on the good things in our world, and not on all the things that are so sad, to embrace life, love and laughter.

Today we send out our love and purrs and hopes that things are going to get better very soon.

Tomorrow, back to business as usual.

  3. It's very important to post something positive, to balance out the suffering of the world. It's easy for us (for the mom, anyway) to get pulled down but the thing is, one more suffering, sad, depressed person (or kitty!) on this planet is not able to help anyone or anything else.

  4. There is too much sadness in the world right now. Those pretty yellow flowers are needed to bring a bit of sunshine back into our lives. We are glad you are feeling better. We hope your dad's facial pain eases.
Word verification is ourfin. It must be paying attention today because on Sammy and Andy's blog it was judimom.

  7. thank you for sharing this lovely sentiment.

I hesitated yesterday about posting a funny post in light of everything that was taking place. I decided that laughter is important medicine, it doesn't take away from how much we care and how much we want to help or how much help we will give. Laughter only takes a moment and it is much needed!

  8. Oh Fin, I think everyone is thinking just like you are. But it is so healthy to be positive and try to be happy for what we do have. Those flowers are very pretty. Take care and try to have a happy day.

  9. We hope Japan will be spared further devastation and that the death toll will rise no more. Our purrayers go out to all of them.

  10. It's important to focus on good, positive things whenever we can. It doesn't detract from the seriousness of the bad stuff, but it helps us all to cope. Hugs from all of us to all of you.

  15. Fin, we think that even if things are really bad in the world, you gotta try and stay upbeat and positive. We're glad you and your dad are doing okay now. And we're purring real hard for all those affected by the terrible earthquake and tsunami.

  21. A week behind, but that was a beautiful post, Fin. We feel bad for Japan too. Thank you for the pretty flowers.
Our Snowee passed away on Feb 28, but Mom and I are doing OK. I hear Mom mumbling about bringing a kitten in, so I won't be alone while she's at work. I don't like being left alone, but I'm not sure about this kitten thing.
