Schedule Change

This should come as no surprise to my faithful readers, I run a pretty tight ship around here. I have a schedule and I like it when it's kept. I work tirelessly (no actually I can get tired, but I buckle down) to ensure Mom is awake and out of the bed by 5:30am every day. No excuses. Weekends? Doesn't matter to me.

Since I have to get up even earlier (I need to limber up and do my vocal exercises) I like to hit the sheets pretty early. I can get a little crabby if Mom is not in the bed by 10:00pm at the latest. Imagine my irritation when she stayed up till almost midnight last night and didn't arrive home tonight till 8:45pm. Blah Blah, something about having to work late, and then being too wound up to sleep.

Um, that's what string toys were invented for Mom - just bat it around a few times and you'll wear yourself out. If that doesn't work surely there must be a human catnip you can roll around in. Get a grip, and more importantly get to bed.

  1. These humans and their 'work'. I bet they're just out snuggling other kitties.

  2. We are lucky, Mom works from home and at home. Dad just recently retired and Grammom is here too. Actually we have 8 humans and 8 furkids living here for now. It's a bit crazy at times. Last night some of our humans were cheering on the Phillies!Noisy!!!!=^Y^=

  3. Awww. Fin, it must be difficult to keep your Mummy in check. Ours doesn't do anything so she stays at home all the time. It's harder to get her out of bed than into one!

  4. Fin, I don't know what your human is like, but mine actually DOES NOT UNDERSTAND the appeal of batting around string toys! Can you imagine? I'd feel sorry for her if she didn't have so many other awful habits. You are lucky you have yours on a schedule. Mine doesn't "do schedules." I have my paws full, let me tell you.

  5. I reckon us humans find that our cats amuse us and tire us out. That what you do isn't it Fin???

  6. Awww Fin, your not alone. Even right now I am at dad's feet looking up a few times at him to let him know it's time for bed. Does he care? He says he is busy commenting on my behalf since we just posted.

I think I'll move on over and see if I cannot climb on his lap at least.

    Wishing you a wonderful day,
    Miss Kitty and Egmont (dad

  7. Every human has their own bad habit right Fin? Sometimes my human annoyed me. *sigh*

  8. I understand your frustration, Fin. My mum is useless at following my schedule.

  9. My bedtime is 10.30pm on the dot. For some reason my parents do not follow this rule sometimes.

  10. Humans really should listen to us cats....we know what's best for them!

  11. There really is no excuse for changing your schedule! Why do these humans think they can do that?

  12. If your mom won't come to bed at her bedtime try putting the clocks forward so she'll think it's late and get to bed when you want.

  13. This is just terrible Fin. Nigel is the one in our house who pitches a fit if mom doesn't go to be on time. He stares at her and does a long sustained meow. Then she knows she's in trouble and gets right to bed.

  16. We totally agree with you Fin. Our human is causing the household some major problems lately. She sleeps too late and only got up because Lilly the kitty jumped on the bed and landed on her stomach this morning. She stayed out too late last night and left us alone. We are going to have to do something with her! Lots of love, Holly, Lilly, Angel and our typist mom

  17. It doesn't bother me if Mom stays up later than usual (which isn't often), but she sure better get up early anyway!

if your Mom wants a suggestion, my Mom finds that tv of almost any kind sends her straight off to sleep. Even her favorite shows.

  18. You might have to do a little show and tell Fin, not just tell!

  19. It is a big job here too getting Mom to bed. I start on her at dark cuz I want her in bed by 9 O'clock and if she ignores me , I don't sleep with her.....Kassey

  22. I pace back and forth till she goes to bed where she belongs!!!

  23. Fin, that is really rude of your Mom to get off the schedule. She needs to keep on your schedule, not hers. She sure does need some more training. So we are cheering you on. Take care and have a super day.

  24. MOL~!!! King totally understands this! The second the sunsets, King makes his way downstairs and bothers mom and dad until they go to bed. This goes on for HOURS!

Our mommy just stays up too late playing computer games or reading. Then she doesn't want to get up in the morning. Sometimes she isn't a bean; she is a slug.

  26. Fin, we couldn't agree with you more. Our Mommy has been off work and our perfect schedule has been toally RUINT. Breakfast 3 hours late, No Mommy in bed at 9 PM, and worse. It's a disaster, we tell you!
