Sometimes, I think Mom enjoys my naughty disregard of the rules.
Before the days of her laptop, she would sit at Dad's desk and use the desktop computer. As soon as she settled in, I enjoyed joining her. My favorite spot was right between the keyboard and her chest, since I was a kitten. It was primo petting!
Dad was not a fan of my being on the desk, no one understands why - something about floofy fur on the desk and equipment? As soon as we would hear the garage door, Mom would tell me to get down before he saw us together. Occasionally he would catch us and we would both be scolded, but it didn't stop us.
Mom likes to break a rule too.
Tonight, she sat down at the desk again and I joined her. The petting was just as good as I remembered and she whispered that she loved spending this snuggle time with me too. I hope she starts using the desk again... and I hope Dad doesn't read this post.
Does your human like to break the rules?
Unfortunately, most of the rules my human breaks around here are Cat Rules - like giving me dinner late, being lazy about freshening up the litter box, picking me up and kissing me when I want some private time... I wish there were some more human rules around here. Maybe she would get busy breaking those instead of breaking the Cat Rules.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't get me started! My mom thinks rules are "guidelines"...
ReplyDeleteSigh.
Fin, Our Mommy is such a renegade she makes up silly rules just so she CAN break them...and of course we like to run riot, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd Daddy? He's just crazypants!
My mom has given up having rules at home. Neither one of us like to follow them.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely we make the rules around here. Mom works around them.
ReplyDeleteHee hee, you will haf to enter your mom in tha next Scafflaw Week.
ReplyDeleteLove & Purrs,
KC
Aww, that is a really nice secret you share with your Mum! Our Mummy is a real rule-breaker. Sometimes she lets me sit on the dining table before Daddy wakes up!
ReplyDeletePurrrr
We make the rools in our howse ~ and mom and dad do as they're told (most of da time). Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really have many rules here....we're all just sort of doing whatever. The only hard and fast rule is that we can't go Outside late in the evening. And Momma is hard core about that one.
ReplyDeleteBreakin' the law, breakin' the law! Fin, you like to walk on the wild side!
ReplyDeleteRules shmools! The only one we listen to is to stay off the bench, and that's because it's too close to the sink. With water. When I first came home, I was not going to be allowed to sleep on the bed. You can imagine how long that lasted.
ReplyDelete-Fui
Our mom makes the rules and our dad breaks them all the time!! Like taking his muddy shoes off before coming into the house...he never listens to that one!! Of course, we don't wear shoes so we don't hafta worry about that!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, sorry Dad caught you and Mom cuddling at the computer. Our Mom behaves just like us cats, there aren't any rules, so there isn't anything to break. Take care Fin and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI sure break Mom's rules to just manipulate her.I only do these things when I need loving or get her off the 'puter. .....Kassey
ReplyDeleteNot us...nope...we NEVER break rules...right Mom? wink wink!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
Hey Fin, what are rules?
ReplyDeleteMum used to make rules here - we ignored them so she doesn't bother anymore.
ReplyDeleteRules? No me. I'm an Admiral of the High Seas!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is fluff here at the computer around the wires and cables that mommy has to dust all the time 'cause she pets me and my floof goes on the desk. Mom has a keyboard skin to keep fluff outta that at least.
bonks
Break the rules? Not us...never!
ReplyDeleteWhat are rules! Lots of love, Holly and mom
Our Mom lets Fenris on the carpet when the Dad isn't home. Tell your Daddy to just blow the computer off with compressed air to get rid of the kitty fur. That is what our Dad does.
ReplyDeleteWe once had to have the wireless keyboard to our iMac opened up because some of the keys were sticking. There was lots of cat fur in there from me! But Mom stil lets me lie between the keyboard and the monitor.
ReplyDeletedad is really the one who defies the "guidelines" as it pertains to me: he is usually the one responsible for the occasions when I "escape". Mom just keeps trying new methods to help control that - funhouses, harnesses, etc. Dad just ignores her.
Rules, schmules. Who needs 'em?
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to have a secret. Sometimes Eric gets on my hairy blankie on the computer desk and there is no room left for me. We are not allowed on the worktops, but if dad isn't home or has gone to bed, mum lets me get up there so I can be beside her.
ReplyDeleteFlynn
Finny, Mummy and Daddy love us too much to put down rules! We get what we want, when we want, it's great...
ReplyDeleteHi Fin,
ReplyDeleteWell most of the time I have a chance to rest on dad chest/lap with the laptop extended all the ay on his knees so there is plenty of room for me. He loves petty me , but he has usually a hard time seeing the lower portion of the keyboard.
Wishing you a wonderful day,
Miss Kitty and Egmont (dad)
Hee hee! My Dad doesn't want me tooling around in the living room on my own. But my Mom does!
ReplyDelete~Tristan
We are renegades when it comes to rules! And there are many different "versions" of the rules -
ReplyDeleteThere's the Gloman is home rules.
There's the Gloman is not home rules.
There's the Gloman is home, but napping rules.
I like Gloman (almost as much as Glogirly) but I like the Gloman is not home rules the best.
xoxo
Katie
Rumblemum does the same thing *tee hee* She is much more lenient about silly rules like 'don't sit on the speakers'.
ReplyDeleteMy mum always breaks rules... especially those about not doing any more shopping!
ReplyDeleteMummy duzent like it if we urk! on the carpit cuz we liv in partment bilding. And she shuts me in bedrum if I tries to snag her dinner (Snowee), but since she is only bean here, she Duzent mek too menny roolz.
ReplyDeleteSnowee, Spit & Angie (mom)
Around here they aren't rules, they're just suggestions.
ReplyDeleteWhat are these "rules" of which you speak, Fin? MOL
