Monday Mews

We're still in a three day weekend and it has been nice to have my parents around the house, but I will be happy for the quiet tomorrow too. A kitty needs her me time too.

It was nice to have my Grandparents here, and they brought a small human boy with them. I had heard stories of small humans pulling tails so I was a bit wary at first. He turned out to be a small gentleman who wanted nothing more than to admire me, play with me and pet me... you can't fault him for that.

Mom is recovering well from the loss of her wisdom tooth. She is taking some good meds that allow her to sleep through catus interruptus (I think that's Latin). No worries though, I still get my needs met. I find that a flying leap from the nightstand onto the hip will wake even the most drowsy humans. Be careful though, a sudden move by the human and you'll need to have a mid-leap course correction.

Enjoy your Labor Day to all my American friends.

  1. We are glad you had a well-behaved sticky person. Actually, we didn't know they existed...we thought thet were some sort of urban Cat myth.

Um, is your Mom more or less wise now that the tooth is gone? Can you even tell?

Mommy had 3 years of Latin in high school (30 years ago!)and she is pretty sure "catus interruptus" is correct!

  2. Don't forget we cats need to take the day off too Fin!
    No labor whatsoever!
Our mom had her wisdom teeth out little by little too. First one, then a year later another and finally last year the last two at once. She was lucky. they came out clean and she only had to hold the gauze tight for about 1/2 hour after she came home and the holes healed up perfectly. Hope yours is doing ok for the holiday today!

  4. hope your mom is getting better and that she had a better time than SS with wisdom teeth removal. SS had half a swoollen face for a week after the procedure.

    Enjoy your long weekend!

  5. I am glad you found a workaround for your human's medicated sleep, Fin! And even gladder that the small human that came to visit knew how to properly respect you. It sounds like you have had a good holiday weekend, but some "meee" time is in order!

  11. When you say your mom is recovering well from the loss of her wisdom tooth - do you mean she is just the same. She couldn't have had a very clever wisdom tooth when they were handed out - we hope she didn't pay too much for it!!

  14. If anyone can make a small human behave, it's you, Fin! Of course he wants nothing more than to admire your beauty.

We hope your Mom is feeling better soon and we think you're doing a good job of making sure she doesn't sleep too long.

Btw, I use the term catus interruptus when Molly comes looking for attention during a romantic moment - LOL!
