Long time friends of this blog know it all began with my sweet grannycat Fin. She passed away in May of 2012. She was our girl for 15 lucky years, and we loved her everyday.
Fin was a character from the moment she arrived at Casa De Housecat. She ruled this roost with a firm but velvet paw. Eventually she became my writing muse. I wrote my first book Housecat Confidential in her voice. The book spawned the blog and the rest is history.
We miss her and think of her everyday.
Sheesh, have I not been on my blog that long. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My boys are gone, too, having lived to the ripe old kitty ages of 14 and 15. I sure will miss her tales.
ReplyDeleteGlad to meet the new kitty.
Hugs, Kelly

ReplyDeleteFin reminds me so much of my own Queen who went to the Bridge 3 months ago. Ms. Phoebe would have turned 14 in July, an amazing and tough ladycat she lived 7 years longer than doctors said she would. Diagnosed at age 3 with a rare auto immune disease shortly after adopting me, our eleven years together were a roller coaster of ups and downs with her health yet she never gave up. Her strength taught me so much about spirit and love. Ignorant people who told me I was nuts to take on a chronically ill cat, spend thousands to treat her symptoms, put myself through the tough times showed me who my real friends were and about the kind of people I did not want to know, and the cruel nature humankind is capable of. Positive or negative, I would not change one thing about our adopting one another- she made me a better person.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm about to start crying so I need to get out of here.
ReplyDeleteMy babies Herman and Pheobe lived the ripe old age of 17 :) Herman was 22lbs of awesome and Pheobe was the boss of the house LOL I feel for you losing your baby <3 She's still there....watching out for her kitty siblings <3
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about Angel Fin, I lost my Harkie just 5 months ago. I was devastated, but also had good memories of Him. I found your kitty blog today and will keep stopping back to check on the two rascals.
