Our Big Adventure Part II

Greyson here. Remember a few weeks ago when Mom left for her walk and Quill and I escaped? It happened again!

Mom decided to go for a walk this afternoon. Quill and I were waiting by the door for her return, when Dad left the house to run an errand. I'll admit I don't like it when my people leave, so I was flinging myself at the door and meowing really loud.

Suddenly the door popped right open! Quill couldn't even believe it - and I couldn't either! I sprinted out onto the front porch - freedom at last!

Except that Dad and Mom pulled up to the front of the house right after I darted out. I was caught in the act. I don't think I should be the only one in trouble. I mean sure, I got the door open and ran outside - but Quill would have come out too!

Quill and I often tag team at the door and take turns scooting out when Mom comes home. It's a really fun game. I don't know why we need to be scolded for any of it. We're kitties, we like adventure.

  3. Cedar and Fern's mom here. I took them out side in a downpour and let them stand in the rain. They did not appreciate the extended tongue-toweling they had to do after that experience. I put them out 12 inches of snow and held then each out in a 20 mile an hour wind. Since those experiences they had not try to sneak out. They look but don't go for the full-out escape run.
ps Fern & Cedar are sibling Maine Coon cats...a tuxedo and a calico and a total of 33 lbs between them :)

  4. We're not sure what your property is like, local by-laws, etc., but maybe a catio would be something to consider. :-)

  8. Your poor Mom must be a total wreck from you boys doing that. If you aren't careful, the mom will have to shut you up somewhere when she has to go out.
So you boys better stop doing that running out.
    Have a great day.

  12. I think I am lucky because I have got my own door for going in and out. I can't get out of the garden though.

  14. You two would give our mom a heart attack. She watches us like a hawk when she goes in and out, and we have a storm door besides the regular door. Astrid hash't escaped in forever, which makes Mom very happy. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
