Shedding Breed?

"Hey look Fin, I bought us a Furminator!"

"Looks like a fur puller, and it doesn't look like a Furminator."

"Well, okay I got the generic, but I think it's pretty much the same thing..."

"Cheap!"

"What did you say?"

"Nothing. Do you know what you're doing with that thing? Did you read the directions, cause I'm not letting you touch me with that thing till you do."

"How hard can it be? Okay, okay, I'll read them... not on the head... not on legs... must be a shedding breed-"

"Wait, go back, how do you know I'm a shedding breed?"

"Are you kidding Fin, have you seen yourself? Of course you're a shedding breed!"

"I think you better look it up. I'll be hiding in the closet."

  1. Your post made us laff, as we are often touted as non-shedding (but we do, it's just very short furrs). We have a real Furminator at work but have never gotten the piles of fur off cats as they advertise. If I was you...I'd lay low too!

  2. I actually like being Furminated! It seems to really work for me.
    Deli hates it though.

  3. She will get the hang of the feel of it quickly then you are in for the treat of your life, Fin! We hope you like it, we love our Furminator!

  4. Ooh, the "staff" here love to be Furminated - it's like getting a backscratch all over - and less hair for the floor and the couch!

  5. Fin, this could be the end of hairballs as you know it!

  6. Fin, give it a try. We love it...ok, my momma and I squirm a lot when we get furminated, but everyone else loves it...especially Bennette and Madison, our short furred family. I'm pretty sure you qualify as a shedding breed !!! Ha!!

We're looking forward to a photo of the pile of floof that came off of you!!

  7. Mummy hasn't Furminated us yet 'cos it's cold here, but she's dying to try it out.

I think you'll feel a lot cooler in the hot weather once you've had it done. Plus, you'll look even more gorgeous!

  9. I'm with Victor! Stay in the closet! Anything that steal your floof and can't be used on the head or legs is worth hiding from.

  10. Oh dear Fin!! You better stay in the closet for awhile!! I wouldn't let my mom Furminate me!

  11. Mom says she thought all cats were shedding breeds except for the hairless ones.
Obviously though a long fur like you would need one a lot more than Niko with his short tiny furs or even me with my medium furs.

  12. If you happen to have an old vinyl table cloth I suggest using it to catch the furs on. If you lay it flannel side up and then put your kittie on top of it, the furs stick to the flannel and doesn't go floating around your house as you furminate. I wish I had a video camera because its hilaious when I get the thing out. You can almost hear them shouting "me first, no me!

  13. I do not like the sound of this generic furminator. I would stay in the closet if I was you Fin.

  15. Mom says as long as we have fur, we are of the shedding breed...... silly mom!

  16. FIN STAY IN THE CLOSET!
STAY THERE UNTIL YOU HAVE EVIDENCE THE EVIL FURMINATOR IS IN THE BIN.

I will not be furminated. I hate it. Have seen less horrible devices in medievel torture chambers. Ask your Mommy to use it on herself and see how SHE likes it.

    Outrageous.

*sneaks some roast chicken in to Fin's closet*

    Wuudles.

  19. We have got a furminator and we both love it, even Flynn who didn't used to like being groomed. Mum always zoom groomed us regularly, but the first time she furminated me, she could have made a whole new Eric. I used to get furballs at least twice a week but I have only had three or four since Christmas.

  22. Sounds scary to us, even though some kitties apparently love it. We don't like change! None of us iz longy-hair kitties though, it may be really good for you. But we'd still say to stay in the closet or another good hidey place.

    Purrs and hugs,

  23. The furminator is the best! I love it

  24. Hmmm, that thing sounds suspect to me, too. Especially the words of wisdom "...must be a shedding breed."

  25. Sounds like Fin and Dante are of like mind! Doesn't like those de-matting brushes at all. I get my husband to brush him, so he can take all the blame.

Maybe you should try the same with yours in order to keep Fin on your good side!

  26. We Russians are a hypo-allergenic breed. Is that the same fing ??
I agree.I would AVOID the fing at all costs.

  27. Hehehe.
Poor Fin. Maybe she'd like the vacuum more? Haha. I know once I introduced my old kitty, C80 to the vacuum she was happy to take on the comb. :P

  28. Come on, Fin! You'll love it!

  29. It is always the kitties that need it the most that hate it the most - our house is the same way! Luckily I can use the furminator on the other kitties, and then just sneak over to Floyd every once in a while when he is asleep. You may want to watch out Fin - that could be something your mom tries - getting you while you sleep!

  30. cheap or expensive, name brand or not, I do NOT like being brushed.

I've heard other cats like their ferminator so maybe you will too. If not, hide under the bed until it gets put back in the drawer!

  31. Oh poor you, Finney...:-( I´ve ordered a furminator for Mathilda and Theodor now, so I guess they will be in hiding pretty soon.....

  32. I left a nasty hairball this morning and the first thing momma said was '' We are buying a Furminator''

    Should I be scared?

  33. We're thankful we're the (almost) non-shedding kinds. We get brushed with a glove with rubber studs. Nice.

  34. Maybe you should show Fin a picture of a sphynx cat? :-)
