Free Roaming

Finny here reporting from the kitchen counter. Day three of free roaming on the kitchen counter. I must say it's quite nice up here. The granite is cool and refreshing on a granny cat's floofy paws. My treat bag is here (haven't figured out how to get in yet, but it's only a matter of time friends). Best yet I've discovered The Source of water. It pools in the cups in the sink (yes, there are cups in the sink).

My parents continue the search to discover how I am getting up here, to no avail. The dinning table has been pushed back to prevent launching (a prior jumping spot). Barricades have been placed at both ends of the counter to prevent a full frontal assault. I laugh in the face of their barricades. Mew Ha Ha!

The food prep counter is a short jump away, but so far they haven't left anything out that I would take a leap for. I must say the top of the fridge is looking good too.

Happy jumping friends. May you never be limited in how high you can leap.

  4. Fin,
You are a little Miss Cleverboots! We think your rebel counter-walking is WAY COOL! And flummoxing the Parents is a huge bonus.
We can recommend refrigerator reconoitering as an excellent activity. Unfortunately Daddy puts sticky paper up there and it adheres to our paws. He is mean.
On the other paw, we have a heated box bed on the counter and a round cozy bed on the dining table. So that is a victory of sorts!

Mommy says she'll have to mosey over to TJ's for some flowers, if we promise not to eat them. pffft!

  5. Good for you, SIF! I get there too but there are just too many launch pads for SS to eliminate, so she gave up years ago.

  6. Mawhawhaw! I love it!
I've also been jumping up on the counter recently. It is very fun!
Mummy is soft so she won't even spray me anymore. Daddy, I'm still training him.

  10. It is fun to confuse your parents with mysteries like this! Our Mom had no idea how Deli was getting on top of the bookcase, until she caught her pulling herself up like a mountain climber (without a rope, of course)! It was great to watch her confusion for weeks before she found out, though! Keep up the great work, Fin!

  15. Way to go Fin. Scylla tried to get some TUNA when she jumped on the kitchen counter, while Mommy was cooking, but BAD MOMMY picked her up and put her down right in front of Fenris.

  16. Bravo Fin - you keep them guessing it's good for their limited brains to use them on puzzles. We jump up on the counter all the while but it gives Mum plenty of exercise picking us up and putting us down on the floor - you see we think of her wellbeing all the time.
We received your book yesterday and Mum has started reading it to us already and we're learning new ideas!! LOL

  25. Humans always underestimate a kitty's skill and ingenuity. And we like it that way.

  28. Hi Fin - I know I commented earlier but I had to tell you that we got our pawtographed copy of the book today - and it is awesome. The kittens love it (well, ok, they tried to eat the pages as I looked through it so I can vouch for the fact that it is on very tasty paper!) and Barney says that it smells awesome! I haven't actually had a chance to read it to them - but they are already saying it is paws up awesome!
