Water Wednesday

I think it's time we had a little talk about one of my favorite things. Water. I really love my water, always have. Because of my obsession delight with the wet stuff, I like to have it in many options around Casa De Housecat.

Option One: The bathroom sink (or my Sippy Sink). This is a delight. I like everything about it. I can hear it turn on from almost any corner of the house. I love to watch it at any speed, from a gush to a drip. I prefer to drink from a light stream as it gathers in the bowl. During actual drinking I get irritated if it's only a drip, and I voice my disapproval until it is adjusted.

Option Two: The water glass on the bathroom counter. Mom has put this one out as a decoy. She pretends to take a sip and leave it on the counter (casual-like) so I will not bug her to turn on the faucet. This is a good back up, but I know it's not really her water, I'm not a kitten!

Option Three: My water bowl below the tub. Always full and fresh, but it's an absolute last resort.

Option Four: My other water bowl in the kitchen. Never! It's too obvious.

Option Five: The other water cup Mom leaves out as a decoy. Yes, but only when she drops ice cubes in it.

Option Six: The icy water bucket Mom uses when Mom has a hive on her foot... Yum. She says it's gross, but really it's her foot, she always washes her foot before (although I don't require that), and third how would she know, it's not like she is taking a sip with me.

Option Seven: Mom's real water cup... the ultimate prize. Nothing is tastier.

How do you take your water friends?

  1. Unfortunately for us...we've had so much rain all we have to do is step outside and water falls on our furry little heads!

That's why I stay inside! Inside I prefer any water that's in mom's glass.

  2. Jack is the real water lover. He loves it in many forms. The sink, of course, and the last resort water dish. The favorite is his electrical running fountain that he likes on low flow. When Mom gets out a cold water bottle from the fridge during the night, I like to attack it and lick it. She has had to hide in a little cupboard by the bed or I get at it.

  4. You for sure have a lot of options. All we ask is that the dogs haven't left any floaties in it☺

  5. You really do love water, don't you! How cute, I can just imagine you voicing your disapproval in #1. We like to drink water in odd places but Daddy insists on keeping some next to our food, even though Mummy says that is absurd to us kitties. We agree with Mummy. mawhawhaw!

  6. I love to drink water out of the glass, but Mishamummy has taken to drinking straight from a bottle so I don't try and drink it.

Cosmo is a bit gross - she'll dip her floofy paw in the water and then suck the water out of her toe hawks!

  8. Lola is a water lover here. Even falling in the bath hasn't quelled her interest

  9. EWWWWW! Didn't anyone ever tell you water is EVIL?!?!??! I will drink from the water fountain here, but that's it. If my human is carrying me and goes within 10 feet of a sink, I freak out.

  10. Hannah - I like to sit on the edge of the kitchen sink when the water is rinning and bat it with my paw but I only drink from one of the bowls.
Lucy - I don't like to get my dainty paws wet and I only drink from a bowl.
Note from Mum - Emma who came before Hannah and Lucy would only drink water from a watering can!!

  11. Those are very endearing details about you, Finny. Chilli loves to lick up droplets in the sink. I just love our three water bowls.

  12. Deli is a water glass kinda girl, but I love my fountain water, that's it! Bella, for some unknown reason, likes the toilet water...now that's gross!

  13. Wow, Fin...you sure have a lotta water options!! We don't have nearly as many as you!! We are boring...we drink out of our water bowl in the kitchen. Recently mom put another water bowl upstairs and I like to drink from that one. It's different drinking in the bedroom rather than the kitchen. Wally likes to lick the water drops in the sink...weird!!

  14. My goodness, your momma puts out a lot of options for you, but alas her cup is always the best!

  15. We have bowls of water everywhere but Mom's glass is the best. We don't drink out of the sink and I don't know why not. Tabatha likes to watch the water run in the sink. Fin it sounds like you will never run out of water, you have lots of back ups.

  19. I agree with you Fin, water is a favorite of mine too. I have a new fountain, which I love lots and we have a very big bowl that used to belong to two woofies that lived here (they went to the bridge before I came) and we call it the pond. Then we always have a fresh dixie cup of water on the tub. Unfortunately our humans don't leave their glasses sitting around long enough!

  22. What a treat to be at your house, Fin. You've got lots of water options.

We have two water bowls for "The Boys," one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom.

Mikey is the rebel rouser in that he is very vocal about when he wants his water. But that's because he drinks it as it comes out of the bathtub faucet.

When the bathtub faucet dripped for a while before we got it fixed, he got into the habit of drinking the drips. Now, he continues the habit but will "cry" and make other noises to let us know he's in the tub and wants us to turn on the faucet so he can get a drink.

  23. WE have water all around the house too, but I stay away from the splashy water fountain. The thought of water on my furs scares me. I only drink from water bowls by the powder bathroom and the master bathroom. Chester, on the other hand, will go for water all over the place like you!

  24. I couldn't agrees with you more about mommy cups Fin! We not drinks from the spouty thing. You is very brave to drinks from that!

  25. We have bowls of water through the house too, and even in the garden, but none of us has a water fetish. :-P

  26. Hmmm...something is terribly wrong at our house....we get our water from a bowl on the floor!!!

  27. Wow what a group of options! We have bowls and fountains at our house - most of us won't drink from the sink, though mom will always offer. And mom's cup is always great, but she puts lemon in her water which apparently is not really good for us, so she is always very careful with it. But if it is plain water, well, she had better look out!

  28. Oh Fin, where to start? I like to drink from the faucet, but only the bathroom faucet and only from the sink on the left, not the right. The force of the stream must be just right - not too strong and not to weak. And let it run to get nice and cold.

Now George, he likes the water bowl in the kitchen but only with fresh ice cubes in it.

Misty and Tipper aren't fussy about their water.

  29. Our favorite is fresh rainwater from the empty flower pot in the garden.

  30. Mum has got a big dish in the garden which catches rainwater. We like to drink that the very best. We get in the dish and paddle when we drink. Our next favourite is the bath tap. It has to be trickling though, not just dripping.

  31. After mom's shower, Angel and I like to lap up water from the shower tiles. Angel sneaks a little toilet water sometimes; she forgets her manners every now and then.

  32. We love the sink faucet too! Dripping not too slow but not a heavy stream either. -Scooby & Scout
Shaggy prefers the LeBistro water dispenser thingy.

  33. Fin, We have two fountains which we LUVS, and a few of us like to do the paw dip-n-lick in the stream. We also have a regular water cooler type bowl, which KonaKitty prefers. And occasionally we like to lick the shower water offa the floor, after it's OFF, of course!
