Floofy Friday

Mom was determined last night to get her IPod working again. She hasn't used it in years and got a wild hair at 8pm last night to make it happen. Here is what she "Made Happen":

  • Set up an extra ITunes account - Check
  • Delete all previously loaded music from IPod - Check - Technically, I helped with this one. See when it said something like - "Are you sure you want to synch cause it's going to wipe out all your tunes?" - She asked me what she should do. Since "OK" was an option, I said okay. Looking back, I see perhaps "Cancel" would have been another way to go.
  • Buy a new song and have it  eaten by the great beyond - Check, Check
It was about this time that the foul mouth started. I had to cover my ears (I do like a fowl mouth). You kiss your cat with that mouth Mom?

I'm sure the weekend will be spent with her trying to find her "Dim All the Lights" and Katy Perry. Yes, she is a dancing queen - well, in theory. I sure hope she doesn't think I'm going to be scooped up and made to boogie with her. I'm more of a slow dancer.

Have a great weekend friends! What do you have planned?

  1. Fin, that sounds like great advice! My mom has an IPod that she got last year and has used maybe twice. She switched computers and didn't know what to do about the songs.....she still hasn't done anything. I think I'll tell her to delete everything and watch her go crazy!!! We have nothing planned here because it's cold as usual. Mom seems to be allergic to cold weather or something. We hope you and your humans have a great weekend!! Lots of love, Holly and mom

  2. My human, the former-and-sometimes-still music journalist does NOT own an iPod at all! In fact, she still has CDs - hundreds of 'em. Realistically, if we listen to any music this weekend, it will no doubt be on YouTube.

  3. Youse guys don't know how modern you are. Our mom and dad have iPods they don't use, and CDs they don't play. But they both have those tape cassettte things, worse yet dad has something he refers to as 8 Track cartridges but nothing to play them on. Mom and dad also both have Frisbees with a hole in the center that make music on a round table that turns around. Mom has a lot of CDs with the same pictures that are on the Frisbee package covers. Now they pretty much only listen to Sirius and XM radio. None of us will dance with them Fin cuz we're not real good with the biped thing 'cept to counter surf.

  4. Fin, our Mommy says Apple is the Evil Spawn of Satan so we can't offer any advice. All her music is on a dedicated hard drive and let us tell you, she listens to some strange stuff.
We are gonna watch Mommy perch on a ladder and change wall colors this weekend, and prolly use words your Mom is QUITE familiar with! daddy was a sailor and we think he taught her.

  6. that darn 'synch' option, yeh, mom knows it ALL to well. it dissapeared all her songs. she said oh well- cuz she doesnt use it much. but she still said technology is , hm, some word we arent quite sure what it was.

one good way to avoid becoming the dancing partner is to claim a stubbed paw so only a slow dance would be possible.

what are we doing this weekend? hm. napping, eating, wild kingdom chase, sleep, nap, eat, OH and getting spoiled with bean loves !!!

  8. I think "syncing" will go down in history as the word that brought down western civilisation. I've got an iPod touch and touching it is the one thing guarranteed to cock everything up. And it's covered in paw prints? Hmmmm!

  11. Oh Fin, you are very funny. WE want videos of you being scooped up and dancing with the Mom. That has to be hysterical. Good for your Mom to do the dancing though. Hope you have a super duper week end.

  12. My mom still lives in the dark ages and doesn't have one of those iPod thingeys...she says she'd like to get one but that would mean trying to figure out how it works...electronics is not her forte.

We hope your mom finds her songs so that foul mouth stops!

  13. We think we'd pay money to see a video of your mom dancing with you, Fin. :-D

Our mom doesn't have an iPod either (also in the dark ages!) -- not even a cell phone!

We're probably going to spend the weekend watching her work herself up into a frenzy of worry and panic re: Annie's litter box output...or lack thereof.

  16. Oh Fin, that same thing almost happened to my mom but I got suspicous and when the evil Apple people asked her if she wanted to "sync"...I meowed NO!

Daddy ended up saving the day by downloading some 3rd party software that allowed her to save her music...most of which she uploaded from her very own CD's. GRRRR!

  18. As kitties who are frequently forced to dance with our mum, we hope you find a way to lose the ipod, Finny.

  24. Oh dear
    OOOOH dear Fin.
We understand why your Mom said those words.
We have never lost our information on apple, but a couple of years ago Dad gave her an iPod for a present, and she didn't know you had to have an iTunes acct, so she couldn't get it to work and she was saying some bad things on Christmas morning. She learned about iTunes and the rest of it was fine...but NO where in the one page instructions did it say you have to have an acct with iTune....*sigh*
    Technology does *uck!

  25. Oh something sounds very familiar here. SS, you have done that before, haven't you?

Good luck with that iPod. We have 2 around the house. One is still in its original box. We don't know where either of them is.

  26. My Mom is way-behind-the-curve my friend. She is one of the few humans who doesn't own an iPOd, but we still do plenty of dancing, it's an old fashioned thing called a 'radio' but I'm 'little' so Mom holds me in one hand and we dance-she 'sings' too but that's another story! Happy weekend dear FIn! as always: Good luck with the humans!

  27. You're lucky, Fin. Our mom said something about getting rid of bugs? And scratching too much? We would try to flee, but the apartment is too small. Maybe under the bed. Afterwards, maybe some snuggle time. It's cold here in central Florida. Our mom likes to dance too, but she has given up trying to get us to dance with her. Heehee!
