Outrageous Behavoir

Well friends, this is going to come as quite a shock to some of you, perhaps you need to sit down. Sunday morning, Mom slept in till nearly 8:45am.I know!

She got up and prepared my breakfast at the regular hour of 4:30am, thank Cod. When it was time to roust her out of the bed at 5:30am, do you know what she did? Nothing. She turned on her side and continued to sleep. I was so shocked I decided to give her a little break. I mean she has been sick and "busy".

By 6:15am, my grace period was over. It's a Sunday. The day was wasting away. I meowed in her face a number of times and do you know what she did? She curled me into her chest and scritched my neck till I fell asleep. I didn't mind that too much actually. I allow these types of distractions.

When I awoke at 7:30am I was completely shocked. Was it already Monday? It might as well have been. I moved into hyper-drive, jumping from the nightstand onto her hip bone, and running across her prone body like it was a kitten super highway.

Somehow she managed to resist me till 8:45am when she finally got up to start the day. By then I was exhausted, and settled in for my second nap. A cat's work is never done.

  1. Fin dear,
Yeah...my Mama is worse. Some Sundays you'll see her wake up at 10am. Serious! By that time, I'm already napping and in lalaland. There goes quality time together. purrr....meow!

  4. Hmmm. That's just plain wrong, her making you work so hard to start your day that you needed a nap.

  5. Wow! Your mom must have been tired! We hope she feels better! On the weekend my mom is super lazy!

  6. You do better getting your mom up than we do. She sleeps and sleeps and hits snooze time after time. We gave up pawing and biting and walking on her full bladder and meowing cuz she just doesn't get up until she gets up.

  7. That's an awful lot of work! I confess, I often stay in bed even later than my human... and she rarely gets up earlier than 9! She should consider herself lucky.

  9. OMC, Fin! Your mom deserves a smack or a bitey or that! Sleeping in for our human means staying in bed till about 4:15AM, and that includes weekends.

If you need help with some of her behaviour-correction, just let us know!

  12. As long as mom feeds us we don't care how long she sleeps. We were outraged that she slept 2 hours past our breakfast time on Saturday...we almost passed out from hunger!!!!

  13. As long as there is food in the bowl I'm good with her sleeping in...a little. But too long and she gets the kitty super highway as well!

  14. We think your mom's priorities are wrong - feeding you should be first on her list of priorities Fin and if you don't require seconds then she should be allowed to nap for a further 10 minutes before checking on you again.

  15. We can't believe your mom gets up at 4:30am to feed you, Fin! We must be doing something wrong...on the weekends, our mom doesn't feed us until she gets up at...wait...can you believe it??? Around 8am!!! It's a miracle we're still alive!!

  16. We say - be lucky you normally get breakfast that early!! Mom doesn't get up until 7am during the week. And she has been known to throw us out of the bedroom on weekends!! Can you imagine???

  18. Time to stuff her into the PTU again and off to the vet. But wait, maybe she will feel better now that she has gotten some rest. Love the part where she gathered you up and you fell asleep in her arms. Fin, we love your blog. Take care.

  27. Oh, Fin, you would be very disappointed in the kitties here--they actually like to sleep in with me! They are very lazy. :)
