The Nightmare Before Christmas

I didn't want to ruin anyone's holiday by telling this scary story before now. I advise any kittens to move on too... nothing to read here.

It was the day before Christmas, and I was just minding my own business taking a nap under the Christmas tree when I heard the scariest sound in the world, scarier even than thunder, the door of the lair of The Evil Dyson opening. I could hear Dad wrestle it's tail as it tried to attach itself to the wall.

It sounded like an epic battle, but The Evil Dyson won out and I heard it's evil roar in the hall. I realized I was trapped! My exit route through the office shut out, and The Evil Dyson and Dad were wrestling down the hall. I made a break for the kitchen, as it sometimes seems to fear tile floors.

The Evil Dyson rounded the corner into the den as it hungrily ate up the floor between us. Dad wrestled it by the neck and by the tail but it still came for me. I raced from the kitchen, over Mom's chair, down the back of the sofa, over the half wall, down the hall, over Mom's foot as I screamed "RUN MOM!!", and finally into the safety of the closet.

Here is the freakiest part, I swear I heard it laughing as I ran, and it sounded like my parents. I hope you can sleep tonight friends, I know I still have nightmares.

  1. I feel your pain, Fin. My mom has a Kirby monster at our house and it's very evil looking and sounding. The bad thing is - it steals my floof.

  2. Fin, we have FOUR Evil Dysons! Daddy is kinda a vacuuming afficianado. (Sick, we know.)
It's very disturbing that yours has learned to mimic your Mom & Dad's voices, what other Evil lies ahead?

  3. Oh Fin, what an ordeal!!! There is an evil Dyson at our house too. Only Casper is brave enough to stare it down the others usually watch from under the dining room table.

  7. Whoa, Finny, we have an evil machine at our house...although it's name is Kenmore. It's totally evil and even makes Grete woofie cower in fear. Bennette is the only one brave enough to give it a well deserved whap.

  9. Oh Fin, you had me shaking in my fur! How awful! Fortunately, I don't hear the Oreck (a distant relative of that Dyson) too often. But it's even worse for me when I do because it usually means my human has a photo session planned for me and she is getting the Oreck to suck up Boodie's fur from the living room rug. I am worried that someday it will also suck up Boodie!

  13. Oh Fin, you poor thing. That sounds so scary. We have to tell you that we go faster than that when our Mom gets our that monster that has a tail. And those humans laughing, that is just horrible. They need to be punished. Actually, our Mom really enjoyed this story. Take care.

  16. In our house we let the Dog follow it about and bark at it...that shows it what's what.

  17. It was very rude of your parents to laugh at you. Our (new) vacuum isn't afraid of wood floors (we were used to being safe from the monster in the kitchen and dining room since the old vacuum never came in there) and it chased Charybdis up a door once. She was on the very top of the door and the door was swinging back and forth on it's hinges. This caused the Mom to loose control of the beast and make funny choking noises.

  20. Fin, Me feels for you! Me hates the Evil Hoover (Dyson's Cousin) but my companion Licorice (who passed a few months ago) LOVED it. He would lay on the bed and let daddy suck all the extra fur off!Personally, Me would rather sit on top of the fridge.
    Great story

  21. We are both worried now cos mum's got one of those and we know it's hungry cos we saw mum empty it's tummy last week and apart from one small piece of fluff it seems to be totally empty - we are sacred it will take both of us for its dinner!!

  22. Mom has one of those evil Dysons too. She doesn't use it too often, but Grandma does when she comes over (and she wonders why we run whenever she shows up).

  24. Fin you should have saved that scarry story for Halloween - it is so scarry it is perfect! We have a dyson monster at our house too - lucky for us it stays upstairs most of the time. We think you are right about the tile scaring it - we have the laminate floors and it is afraid of those too.

  25. Oh Fin, what a nightmare! As soon as we hear the door open where the hoover lives, we run out in the garden and hide under the hedge.

  26. Oh poor FIN! I hope you got extra snuggling and treats after all you've been through. My humans have an evil thing too called Bissel. Mom has always wanted a Dyson but Dad says they are too $$. Anyway I'm glad you survived the trauma . . .
really freaky how it sounds just like your parents though.

  27. We think we're very lucky that there is very little carpet in our apartment. The Evil Swiffer just doesn't sound very scary at all!

  28. Poor Fin!!! It happens here too and always on weekends and holidays. But I hide out in the kitchen.
