Woobie War Wednesday

Greyson sprawls on the woobie blanket that lays alongside Mom in the big bed. Quill jumps on to the bed and sees Greyson has taken over most of his beloved woobie. Quill sighs deeply and starts down to the knee area.

Greyson, sensing his brother isn't feeling his best, gets up and settles instead on the nightstand. Quill stands stunned and confused. Greyson nods his head as Quill realizes he has the woobie all to himself.

Quill settles in next to Mom. He nudges Mom's hand and gets his late night pets.

Seems that even little brothers know that sometimes a kitty just needs his Mom... for tonight there is a truce in the Woobie War.

  2. As Wednesday is my two boys' Gotcha Day, I related this story to them aloud, to suggest they could and should be more caring about each other on their special day. I also pointed out that unlike Quill and Grayson, my kitty boys have been brothers since birth and have never faced the fears and uncertainties of settling in among new siblings. Binky sauntered away early during my sermon, and as I finished I noticed Alphie was exhibiting a definite butt wiggle. Sure enough, Alphie leaped into a sailing pounce on Binky. Well, I think they both understood my speech--and decided to ignore it in true kitty spirit.

Your recent blog entries about Grayson's Gotcha Day were very timely for me, just in time to give me a name for the day my cats obtained their furrever home.

  3. Mom's spelling fixer stuck its paws (or whatever) in where they don't belong. My name is Alfie, not "Alphie". Mom didn't name us, by the way, somebody else did when we were tiny baby cats. If you were to ever meet us, would you give us treats? Just asking.
